To talk about Christmas???</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I L O V E Christmas ! I always have and I always will !</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Sitting by the fire, listening to Christmas music softly playing, with the lights on the Christmas tree sending out a twinkling aura of magic, it is the most wonderful time of the year.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">But since it is still November, I made this country farm sign as a sort of Thanksgiving to Christmas bridge. It is Over the River and Through the Woods (to Grandmother's house we go for Thanksgiving Day).</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpBiSxujNaln9YuuzHCkLV-eBOdUZRGRnG4OFGzAwEq6ydxWpTafLyL1_H8E9Eqckk8C59BQaqs-06tBXDJMiCkl4Uc6YiHfBO44uSnXZPE09OVOlsp26IEZMV3mpCA2q1ZWnOWOq4VYA/s1600/over-river-thumb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1184" data-original-width="1600" height="295" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpBiSxujNaln9YuuzHCkLV-eBOdUZRGRnG4OFGzAwEq6ydxWpTafLyL1_H8E9Eqckk8C59BQaqs-06tBXDJMiCkl4Uc6YiHfBO44uSnXZPE09OVOlsp26IEZMV3mpCA2q1ZWnOWOq4VYA/s400/over-river-thumb.jpg" width="400" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm the annoying one that listens to and sings Christmas music all year long. I like to imagine living in the story of the Christmas songs. Who wouldn't want to go on a sleigh ride to Farmer Gray's house for some popping chestnuts and pumpkin pie</span>!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg13MqsDoe1AT9JptUkY0dj34acqwJjPYqB9P51Pi03QBuUxJaHXHCpd-MZwi06qqltNXIJEHp9nPtGAlbJFKxT_G0lRyGdJjpHy7tVXFSF5H6qu1RmFJYWljDVyy93WLOihBdSYlj57xQ/s1600/sleigh-thumb.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1182" data-original-width="1600" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg13MqsDoe1AT9JptUkY0dj34acqwJjPYqB9P51Pi03QBuUxJaHXHCpd-MZwi06qqltNXIJEHp9nPtGAlbJFKxT_G0lRyGdJjpHy7tVXFSF5H6qu1RmFJYWljDVyy93WLOihBdSYlj57xQ/s320/sleigh-thumb.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">So that explains why I did this country farm sign with Farmer Gray's house and more sleighs. I'm in the sleigh behind those front three sleighs! </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I hope you enjoy this wonderful Holiday time of year.</span><br />

A time when the trees change their outfit to beautiful shades of orange, yellow, and red. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">It is a time when the busyness of a hectic summer calms down and with our yards tucked in for winter we can take a deep breath and let it out.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">November is warm Autumn soups and jacket/sweater weather. It's apple pie and digging the hot cocoa out of the cupboard.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">But most of all, it is the time to reflect on our abundant blessings. We have much to be thankful for.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<img border="0" data-original-height="1457" data-original-width="1600" height="362" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0OlGVGfeW2nc5yPbM6gnyOEgOB8MUEzvaaou-sdAh8-ya7m48RpMkzNttdBei664mnoaf_C604JtmYTZStL8jwLBoskFK92JLtbWMZzlJezrZahVQ_8iDyPVbu9uer1zNxc2uzoNq5xg/s400/pumpkins-thumb.jpg" width="400" /><a href="http://www.etsy.com/shop/farmsignltd" target="_blank">Farm Sign Ltd.</a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">And when we are thankful, according to this verse, we are blessed even more abundantly. What a great win/win!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikSdI_4HhKEgjTuOESeE_TSh724rf0w-giXuwPV_57pfjtIfKDjqxBaSOP7_swRjRtg4sx7TXdjWjIIyh2Ua3PhqSZstGJ3yjL2-fUJ5KZGY-W_k3p9pjsrasGIB23yTn_7n5OXDlzqvU/s1600/pumpkins-close-up.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1040" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEikSdI_4HhKEgjTuOESeE_TSh724rf0w-giXuwPV_57pfjtIfKDjqxBaSOP7_swRjRtg4sx7TXdjWjIIyh2Ua3PhqSZstGJ3yjL2-fUJ5KZGY-W_k3p9pjsrasGIB23yTn_7n5OXDlzqvU/s400/pumpkins-close-up.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The most interesting part of this verse to me is the "all things" part. There are some things I'm not too grateful for. Like when I walked into a swarm of bees a couple of weeks ago! That was kind of traumatizing! But as I look back on it, I am soooo grateful it was me and not my husband who was nearby. He is allergic to bees and if it had been him, it would have been a life and death situation.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So there are ways to look at life and receiveth all things with thankfulness (I think). </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

A half double crochet!<span style="font-size: large;">Hopefully you are having loads of fun learning how to crochet. Crocheting is much easier (I think) than knitting and is so versatile. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">And, hopefully you are ready for the next crochet stitch. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Today's video demonstrates the Half Double Crochet stitch. This is a great stitch. I like it for projects that do better with a dense stitch. It is not a airy, lacy stitch. This stitch will keep you warm in the winter!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Enough with the crocheting fluff. Let's get to the crocheting action:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" class="YOUTUBE-iframe-video" data-thumbnail-src="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/5zEpAZVs6RQ/0.jpg" frameborder="0" height="266" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/5zEpAZVs6RQ?feature=player_embedded" width="320"></iframe></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I don't know about you, but it seems like this is the best time to learn how to crochet. You will have plenty of time to practice the stitches and be ready to crochet many wonderful projects for this years holidays.</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">CROCHETING</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">yay crochet!!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I've been crocheting since I was around 10 years old and love it!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">So in honor of this wonderful hobby/craft, I will be teaching several, (more like dozens), of crochet classes right here on the Mom of 5 Daughters Blog.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">If you have never crocheted before, but want to learn, these crochet classes are perfect for you. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">We will be starting out with the most basic of basics in the world of crocheting. You can do it, I promise!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The first crochet class (intro video) covers what you will need to get started. It is kind of boring, but necessary. Then, the next crochet class (that will be posted tomorrow) will be lots of fun.</span></div>

<span style="font-size: x-large;">It's time to have sooo much fun!!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">It's time to make dreams come true!!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;">It's time to play dress ups!!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">When my girls were wee littles, we would frequently have tea parties.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">As they grew, we continued to have tea parties with more and more frills and dress-up fancies.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I need to go on a little tangent here. Back in the late 1990's, I discovered Jane Austen's <i>Pride and Prejudice</i> for the first time. No, I did not read the book, I had 5 children at home and I didn't make time for reading (oops, another tangent!). I watched this old black and white movie (1940's) on TV and loved it. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj28Su5coG_3An-pGIVtBhbZP3GnvdWd-cVl0ofiskdIJ0W7GiE1VhK2012YAsFHzZmZ6gTKEYWG1M4_m-9iCKqxRM47-XiLiwyJeQM29OwPNXIVM9dWi1S_8HKbpPHmKtFQ0Ok5s3iT3c/s1600/p+and+p+1940.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj28Su5coG_3An-pGIVtBhbZP3GnvdWd-cVl0ofiskdIJ0W7GiE1VhK2012YAsFHzZmZ6gTKEYWG1M4_m-9iCKqxRM47-XiLiwyJeQM29OwPNXIVM9dWi1S_8HKbpPHmKtFQ0Ok5s3iT3c/s1600/p+and+p+1940.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"> I didn't even know what the name of it was. When I found the name "Pride and Prejudice" I searched for more and discovered the 1995, 6-hour miniseries with the handsome Colin Firth version and watched it. I became a fan!</span><br />
<br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">THEN (drum roll), the 2005 Keira Knightley version came out and not only did I absolutely love it but my daughters loved it too. My youngest daughter has watched the movie so many times she has the whole movie memorized.</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">We became obsessed with the Regency Era of Jane Austen and watched more movies based on her novels.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Over the last 10 years we have been gathering satin gloves, fans, parasols, and bonnets. I have also collected an assortment of tea party dishes (nothin' crazy, just a few).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span> <span style="font-size: large;">This year I brought it to a whole new level. Starting in June I've been working on a new project. From age 9, I have been sewing and designing cloths. So, in June, I decided to combine my dream of the romantic life of Jane Austen with my practical sewing skills. </span> <br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Today, as I look outside it is cold and rainy, just like any countryside in England. Needless to say, we will be taking our herbal tea and crumpets in the drawing room, next to a warm fire. Where are my servants, the fire needs to be stoked (actually, I'm the one who's stoked. I'm so excited to go back 200 years to the genteel times of 1815 at Pemberly).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have more empire waist dresses I plan to sew, more bonnets to make, little purses (or I found out they are called "reticules") to crochet, etc. The fun has just begun!!!</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Sooooo, the best option is a card!!!!! I can't go wrong with a homemade card. In fact, my dad loved my homemade cards (or at least he acted like he loved them!) And the men in your life will love a homemade Father's Day card too!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This years Father's Day card is made with a regular sized (8.5" x 11") piece of paper. I used scrapbook paper with a design on one side and white on the back. First, cut 2 inches off the length so it measures 6.5" x 11". Then, write your sweet Father's Day sentiments on the white side of the paper. Now it is ready to fold. Here is a how to video I made to show you much better than I could type out . . .</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">You know how I have 5 daughters (no sons), so I conned one of my daughters into putting on a white shirt and the paper bow tie. She was so sweet to model the tie for me!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I also made a tie out of fabric. It only takes about 5 minutes to make this simple tie. </span></div>

I got the other Mother's Day projects done that I wanted to do -- miracle of miracles!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm just going to breeze through them quickly. The 3 projects are quick and easy and things that kids can do or at least help with if you'd like (a fun little mother's day gift for a grandma too!).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">All 3 projects can also be used for dozens of other things, like:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Party favors (nut/candy cups)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Wedding/ bridal showers</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Baby showers</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Birthday parties</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Gifts</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Easter baskets</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Place settings</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You can access the "how to" videos by clicking on the photos or the link in pink. </span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/96qZg_jYVZk" target="_blank"><img alt=" How to make a paper plate basket" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiE0WZQC2E-nSaYPXoRgvWGZZ-9geudCTFgkXjbUck5tiDb6w-g6EdKWbScXqtcen0RMLOxZaejoy0ETMHZlzOY-7YUfeI7gMMHo1VyrHgHGD0ZDZHmishdlAFXmFsciBv7yLdC74gEIgM/s1600/paper+plate.jpg" height="409" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The first and quickest project is a paper plate basket. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Have the kids decorate both sides of a paper plate (especially the bottom of it). Then you just need scissors and glue (chenille pipe cleaners are optional). Click below for my YouTube video:</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: #d5a6bd; color: #4c1130; font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://youtu.be/96qZg_jYVZk" target="_blank">How to make a paper plate basket</a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Next is a butterfly basket simply made out of 8.5" x 11" cardstock. Kids will have fun coloring the butterflies!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/cMiyVwdGPjM" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcDpwkM15vHhPLOR4pFmLWuvUbiX8NhBqRTcGVUntxgpPL_3d3m-FrXo-7WEuETgDI34VCHtsWtL1LtumoOvYttgicy4-SgLnM6ha1jXiIqHxg3Ddp68us4VyZh1uTWGgGQIp-1A3AK1g/s1600/yt+butterfly+basket.jpg" height="370" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">All you need is cardstock paper, markers or crayons, scissors, tape or glue, and optional chenille pipe cleaners. Click on the photo or link below for the "how to" video:</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Last, but not least, is a beautiful dress shaped card for your Mum!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/HsbFkAn-kLc" target="_blank"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDnzFSzq1K1oe8Vk0bZZIe9Z9hjE7LD5E9S0C7dKqnlj_vQ7FnXwJ7CVSfxhKmmtzNxY1yZkwoJuf2PfdiyyPs3zpTvbrVitlq9EVoCMM-3QnAoWabbmeRr73R5QsmFPFpwNWX92bKEbI/s1600/yt+dress+card.jpg" height="384" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">The card in the middle would be more for a wedding/bridal shower and the one to the right might be more for a birthday party. The dress on the right would be a perfect dress card for mom!!!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">This card is made with cardstock, ribbon, and a little scrap piece of fabric. Here is the link to the "how to" video (or click on the photo):</span></div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Have fun with these projects and to all the mothers out there . . .</span> <span style="color: #674ea7; font-size: x-large;"><i>HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY ! ! !</i></span></div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span id="goog_48098493"></span><a href="http://youtu.be/06N-5LVkYls" target="_blank"><img alt="How to make an umbrella gift, decoration, party favor" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-3lP9yj2hr8f1oDWeSeaPL_60xgmfoYZNe_ERUKW9aIE9K4Xy-gBo0XNz9j_hzU4nSSWw9WJvU-wJ_pg_hHAY6ZCf3FAgV8ZIOqFqSOyi_1mIk2LKR_4nszdaH6oyAuCJ-m6XR6fZogs/s1600/umbrella+youtube.jpg" height="378" width="640" /><span id="goog_48098494"></span></a></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This cute umbrella is easily made out of paper, chenille (pipe cleaner), and ribbon (or yarn). You can make them any size. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Large ones, made out of 12" x 12" scrapbook paper, make great decorations. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Medium size ones, made out of regular 8.5" x 11" copy paper, make great cards (the umbrella can be flat and fit in an envelop), or fill it with candy and it makes a great gift.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Small ones, made out of 6" x 6" paper, make great nut cups or party favors by each plate setting.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You can see the "how to" video I did by clicking below or on the photo above:</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The next project is also great for MOTHER'S DAY and for weddings and anywhere in your home. The natural, rustic look is so popular right now. The flower bouquet would look terrific as a centerpiece on a burlap table runner. </span></div>

</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/WBSarBSJoIA" target="_blank"><img alt="How to make a stained glass paper Easter egg" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqYlAyexdeBLg2t2-WmeBxFHxPkZJE-Pysxv5l-pwq_Xj6TO2bFjYy4HzwNY-EzTID4lz1MgulEPTZO9ZuL-9XTkwyh72K7cwPmwiakSMxyJ5bq2M_Xoyj0a5Kw00Mz8pjbHPy49_w_uU/s1600/egg+for+yt.gif" height="265" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This was a little project I did with my grandkids. They had so much fun! They were all coloring and it didn't matter how they colored or if they went outside of the lines. Just a great big scribbling fest!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/WBSarBSJoIA" target="_blank"><img alt="How to make a stained glass paper Easter egg" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9HcfO8tl4NGPcyXVBTX_Hy7raCNmc1p9uZFmjDXPRcO2sZpsBdUgRLuRT2kHlRC3YvcEwV172xN5PbVzKO6FhvImak6EYDRRkbyXk8HCrn4vsdaWuPxhJ5guJ8hyphenhyphenKULBexDRg7-mfyZM/s1600/kids+coloring.jpg" height="382" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I picked up some poster paper (15 cents a foot) at a craft store, drew the egg on it with a pencil and let the grandkids go at it!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I did a little "how to" video with instructions to make the stained glass paper Easter egg and also for the solid colored Easter egg too. Just click below or on any of the photos to start the video :)</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/WBSarBSJoIA" target="_blank"><span style="font-size: x-large;">How to make a Stained Glass paper Easter Egg</span></a></div>

<a href="http://youtu.be/WBSarBSJoIA" target="_blank"><img alt="How to make a snowflakish Easter Egg!!!" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEimJWn9NVs_MWw8ZQllj6X7qQAqa-Vl82T49iGhEC4uUhWMPv_DfJTS0x00dJ7lvnz9_Q-Fvxpg3-4h0mo2OPDHaolT5inc9vDPD0OLBVhL182lMCpYOV1aqtMrOF1IbRdeUjM-Vg6l78w/s1600/orange+egg.jpg" height="400" width="321" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-size: large;">You can decorate a whole house with these large (3 feet by 2 feet) Easter eggs. You can buy the poster paper in a lot of different colors: pink, red, green, blue, purple, yellow, orange, etc.</span> <br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I get more compliments on these simple to make paper Easter eggs than I do on any of my other Easter decorations.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Have so much fun with this quick and easy project and . . .</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Isn't springtime the best; not too hot, not too cold, just right . . .</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Easter is later this year. This is good, it's given me time to make something I've wanted to do for a long time.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">My mom has this wire tree on a rock that she purchased years and years ago. When I was a kid, I got to hang cute little miniture Christmas ornaments on it. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Years later after I was grown and gone, my mom started hanging hearts on it for Valentines Day, then eggs for Easter, then little bats and jack o' lanterns on it for Halloween.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Anyway, I have wanted a tree like that for a long time and have never seen one in any stores, so I made one and it was easy!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/74UpgTD3N9Y" target="_blank"><img alt="How to make the wire tree" border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4uzCxmn73KFmPXhlSCyAe5WVh1if_Le50-OL-odEY3ephLe1IGE5qZ_tDap_y52Cia_XLVoVjxEb_XjNgmgiegGgwXY9BEIVwqYNa0US0BxaQRbKOKSXyvvaqoVO_Wf9FvE-yYuT6r9Q/s1600/new+wire+tree.jpg" height="305" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Just click on the photo above or on the link below for a "how to" video I did to show you how to do it:</span><br />

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<span style="font-size: large;">The possibilities are endless on how big you want to make it, or how wide you want the trunk, or what color wire to make it with. You can also choose how full of branches you want the tree to have etc.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The eggs are a fun, quick, and easy project too. Not to mention, perfect for my little tree!</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The "how to" video I did has step-by-step instructions. The link is immediately below:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: x-large;"><b style="background-color: #f4cccc;"><a href="http://youtu.be/v-XO08SLddg">How to weave a heart shape basket</a> </b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: x-large;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">If the kids need something to hold their Valentines in from school, this heart basket is perfect and it is easy to make.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHzOJcpC8N3f_oeTQSNemCgXiDzC0uIEqzg35vPQGu9SzrBpU1u6ui-melp0mr-o43-wuTB-JwXYbTVLMDjwPUGiy6bBzauxH-w6PKuif11KOf5Ygz1uMbk5L9LENCgB5a_tIprNftiN0/s1600/hb3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjHzOJcpC8N3f_oeTQSNemCgXiDzC0uIEqzg35vPQGu9SzrBpU1u6ui-melp0mr-o43-wuTB-JwXYbTVLMDjwPUGiy6bBzauxH-w6PKuif11KOf5Ygz1uMbk5L9LENCgB5a_tIprNftiN0/s1600/hb3.jpg" height="450" width="640" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The large size (shown above)makes a great door decoration and you can either leave it empty or fill it with with stuff for your door decor (fillers could include red and white tulle, artificial flowers, more hearts, red cellophane, or whatever!).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">On the large heart basket, I used two sheets of poster board (a red one and a white one). For smaller ones, you can use regular copy paper or scrapbook paper.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv5VfcWSu5gC6uEU9yyT5q0TqR4_8RKavXYwkQ5FWHmu0FiyH_HJg6knoVE3sNuE6lRBy9AMp8ZOUXOuYZfODckAUFKVckfIe2CR040OI2uRU7uZOx9Eip4uM4MglPEpnZS6BoSB2mhq4/s1600/hb2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiv5VfcWSu5gC6uEU9yyT5q0TqR4_8RKavXYwkQ5FWHmu0FiyH_HJg6knoVE3sNuE6lRBy9AMp8ZOUXOuYZfODckAUFKVckfIe2CR040OI2uRU7uZOx9Eip4uM4MglPEpnZS6BoSB2mhq4/s1600/hb2.jpg" height="403" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The smaller heart basket also makes a pretty Valentine decoration and a great gift with a heart shaped sugar cookie or other Valentine candies inside of it!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjh_7wYGXhjezlBJlM2hw2K_-TdpIZBoBP1a03DOxBTOMMon9qrFEyewlXcT-XQ4F47oeNTHKUVU7ie0VZ7WPmuyG5uWYmSkGd4ZGh-mjj-eiruNf_2uv_Ofh5SHcuoMY4F0PJov1gNjE/s1600/hb+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjh_7wYGXhjezlBJlM2hw2K_-TdpIZBoBP1a03DOxBTOMMon9qrFEyewlXcT-XQ4F47oeNTHKUVU7ie0VZ7WPmuyG5uWYmSkGd4ZGh-mjj-eiruNf_2uv_Ofh5SHcuoMY4F0PJov1gNjE/s1600/hb+1.jpg" height="246" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">This heart basket is a project for adults and kids both. It is quick and easy and only involves paper and scissors (a pencil, ruler, and tape or stapler are handy too).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />

I've seen it on gifts, as a tree ornament, and also as a Christmas tree topper. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">With two different colors of paper, I thought the star bow decoration would be super cute as a red and white Valentine decoration.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is a link to the You Tube video I made on how to fold the Star Bow:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #741b47; font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://youtu.be/LZ__QO2w2RE" style="background-color: #f4cccc;">Origami Star Bow video</a></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large; text-align: start;"><br /></span></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large; text-align: start;">For those with secret romantic inclinations, you can write love notes on the strips of paper or ribbon before you fold it for your lover to undo and read. Oh!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmYCqBpUVmej0QGcgvECQf00Xqd_humyHVEnKWg8Swgs-HzKN9nGdLI1qN0ezs4qMJnNoxgT44WRPrTXZAfhsuDj7H72cmzA3KFeARbPVtfQHXgfzpNvoYtOIKYuZbiYhjHoMoaDfvffI/s1600/blog+bow+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmYCqBpUVmej0QGcgvECQf00Xqd_humyHVEnKWg8Swgs-HzKN9nGdLI1qN0ezs4qMJnNoxgT44WRPrTXZAfhsuDj7H72cmzA3KFeARbPVtfQHXgfzpNvoYtOIKYuZbiYhjHoMoaDfvffI/s1600/blog+bow+3.jpg" height="280" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">The finished Star Bow measures 4 1/2 inches. This size bow uses 1" by 20" strips of paper. For a larger star bow you would use longer and wider strips of paper or ribbon (and, of course, for a smaller star bow, you'd use narrower and shorter strips of paper).</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwZr-2USvOod3hruTbsvzmJYCKPWW2qU8gbOkwC0tnkbdtqDYicIEuViAxgv1MTLtUGYf9xvTcZbQ347qxmjMskY43N2ZAqX1Q2TGyLJSyKLAEy7DfIrIFXUJHxfTXoLQko9eXR56mn4/s1600/blog+bow+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiwZr-2USvOod3hruTbsvzmJYCKPWW2qU8gbOkwC0tnkbdtqDYicIEuViAxgv1MTLtUGYf9xvTcZbQ347qxmjMskY43N2ZAqX1Q2TGyLJSyKLAEy7DfIrIFXUJHxfTXoLQko9eXR56mn4/s1600/blog+bow+2.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I will be using this as a hanging decoration on my three corner cupboard for Valentines Day. Maybe, I'll use it as a gift topper too, if I actually decide to give anyone a Valentines gift, hmmmm.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXJ0upds72g0gvVdhMvhSSJBiROloqZXEk0tQfAG6SNUDQIQZUFiAsqjsWXLHUWwVHjGJX7YyP_UdiriV9zcTGoxbfgDkVGiVwXSJeJGd63f6OxSStaAnNzZ7DY7Q9vT_TBQmI6qGqUkQ/s1600/blog+bow+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiXJ0upds72g0gvVdhMvhSSJBiROloqZXEk0tQfAG6SNUDQIQZUFiAsqjsWXLHUWwVHjGJX7YyP_UdiriV9zcTGoxbfgDkVGiVwXSJeJGd63f6OxSStaAnNzZ7DY7Q9vT_TBQmI6qGqUkQ/s1600/blog+bow+1.jpg" height="282" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">This is a lot of fun to fold as long as the paper strips don't rip. Ribbon is easier to work with, but it doesn't seem to hold its shape as well and it comes apart more easily.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: x-large;">Have a loving time getting into the Valentines spirit!!!</span></div>
Alyssahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356601851959013208noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-950564687059981944.post-2407731859572491332013-12-18T10:02:00.000-07:002014-02-06T14:52:01.761-07:00Christmas Tree Lanterns<span style="font-size: large;">I know . . . time is running short. Here is a quick and easy craft to keep youngsters busy while you get your baking and wrapping done. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is a link to the step-by-step You Tube video I made on how to fold the light lantern:</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://youtu.be/ob4PH3fj7b0"><b style="background-color: #ffe599;">Origami Light Lantern video</b></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">All they need is a piece of copy paper. Really that is all. Oh, maybe some scissors to cut the paper into a square.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Then they just follow the video (and they can start the video, pause it, stop it, watch it over and over, to follow each fold to make, then they blow some air into it to puff it up) and make the origami paper mini light bulb cover. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK89WJc5fzbCzabieMEuSQsxx781-fmFgT-LyfKsCs12yQbBvWfDbF3XEd0yhjUef8ELcDQXzjuDAMhSa-abNIcT6ExR_0vN0WZN9jpoapduuw6tXgO9y4sCS95mx-BAi4N58LVrjwb6g/s1600/lantern+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiK89WJc5fzbCzabieMEuSQsxx781-fmFgT-LyfKsCs12yQbBvWfDbF3XEd0yhjUef8ELcDQXzjuDAMhSa-abNIcT6ExR_0vN0WZN9jpoapduuw6tXgO9y4sCS95mx-BAi4N58LVrjwb6g/s400/lantern+2.jpg" height="271" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">If you have colored tree lights then the white paper takes on the color of the light bulb. If your tree lights are all white, you can use different colors of copy paper to make the lanterns a variety of colors. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfGElLhLoyqFwVWBoGqVkwJKD8PYdd3ZslZvNc1ZbjdueUs0Rz1GSdanqg-SvMBt8iOp2I2p3TnMJ0NrDYz0ytRdVwbLoghJEypEDmEGqU7eJwwFrZXczUZ42x60Hjowf83eKo20NcsdI/s1600/lantern+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfGElLhLoyqFwVWBoGqVkwJKD8PYdd3ZslZvNc1ZbjdueUs0Rz1GSdanqg-SvMBt8iOp2I2p3TnMJ0NrDYz0ytRdVwbLoghJEypEDmEGqU7eJwwFrZXczUZ42x60Hjowf83eKo20NcsdI/s400/lantern+1.jpg" height="335" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">In the above picture the red and blue lanterns are made of white paper. The yellow lantern was made with pastel yellow copy paper.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Or just use white paper on white lights to diffuse the light and make a beautiful larger soft light.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6nNqOeXn5sP7FVJzEa7Yv6y6jTFz6WrY3AJtUBw6zncDQjfJbKtzF6WL1cPVyOjm5furGqFmBPXOaXUZLBgy1wh1NNq9Hy5w9FXKfpR5lbGEdq0JZkA6uj-1musMvCw7L3mThvJoCmPQ/s1600/lantern+3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6nNqOeXn5sP7FVJzEa7Yv6y6jTFz6WrY3AJtUBw6zncDQjfJbKtzF6WL1cPVyOjm5furGqFmBPXOaXUZLBgy1wh1NNq9Hy5w9FXKfpR5lbGEdq0JZkA6uj-1musMvCw7L3mThvJoCmPQ/s400/lantern+3.jpg" height="252" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">It's really amazing to see how this little paper lantern can transform a mini light! You just slip the lantern over the light bulb --- it's so easy and the effect is amazing!!!</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: x-small;">Disclaimer: Use at your own disgression. Do not cover any lights that produce any heat. You are responsible for your safety in using these lanterns on safe lights.</span> <br />
<br />
These origami lanterns are also used as water balloons. So once the kiddies learn how to fold the lantern, then they can fold them for water balloons in the summertime! Cool, huh!!!Alyssahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356601851959013208noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-950564687059981944.post-67864665391938205222013-12-10T11:03:00.001-07:002014-02-06T14:51:31.226-07:00Sheep Decoration/ Ornament<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #38761d; font-size: x-large;">Merry Christmas!</span> </div>
<span style="font-size: large;">This is my favorite time of year. It's also so busy, cold, and stressful. So here is a fun and quick (yet adorable) Christmas decoration or Christmas tree ornament to make.</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgtNJAilIfixG13Jh6ELd__2YL6GFMO3P8_HNJm6dFIGFlGGu0eBA6ec42yTk8OVivRKpJUM5MjKAOecxjvVPbVsayRchdyjw_Sx89FIAG2Ti3O2YF8CuBLkmZZgNlY-yMdjfTASM5SCE/s1600/yt+sheep.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgtNJAilIfixG13Jh6ELd__2YL6GFMO3P8_HNJm6dFIGFlGGu0eBA6ec42yTk8OVivRKpJUM5MjKAOecxjvVPbVsayRchdyjw_Sx89FIAG2Ti3O2YF8CuBLkmZZgNlY-yMdjfTASM5SCE/s400/yt+sheep.jpg" height="212" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You will need some sheepy like material (an 8" by 8" piece), strong thread and needle, brown felt, glue ( I use a glue gun ), and some kind of stuffing (either batting or cotton balls), and either 2 beads or felt for the eyes. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"> I like this decoration/ ornament because it symbolizes part of the Christ story of Christmas instead of all the Santa stuff. It's good to have balance, right?</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's a helpful howto link to a You Tube video I did showing how to put the sheep together:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

It has cooled down so much in the last week and we have had a lot of rain, making it sweater weather. It may return to the 80-90 degree weather we had 2 weeks ago, but for now it is definitely autumn.</span> <br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div align="center">
</div>
<span style="font-size: large;">My pumpkins have mostly turned orange and they are so festive. Two of the pumpkins are larger than any pumpkin I've EVER grown before. I'm so excited to put them on my front porch!</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6E8vKEJGeh0rqskiKEDfjvUdHBCCxjyn_TIXOLwmQNErklehapLdYgp9_brSflFrJzm0Z21VoBLCXHPlbI5vBBbaHXxrnblPqBKIvV6XwoDr21yYImwOaPfEkZli2tCwdJjJT_QBS3vg/s1600/largep.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><span style="font-size: large;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6E8vKEJGeh0rqskiKEDfjvUdHBCCxjyn_TIXOLwmQNErklehapLdYgp9_brSflFrJzm0Z21VoBLCXHPlbI5vBBbaHXxrnblPqBKIvV6XwoDr21yYImwOaPfEkZli2tCwdJjJT_QBS3vg/s320/largep.jpg" height="261" width="320" /></span></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">This is the big one, hiding in the leaves. If I remember I'll take another pic of it when I have it on my porch so you can tell how big it is compared to the other small pumpkins.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">To go with my pumpkin fever, here's a lil' punkin (yes, it is little about 1-2 inches tall) crochet project that works up in about 5 or 10 minutes. Really, this crocheted pumpkin is so easy.</span> <br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is a link to an easy step-by-step You Tube video I did showing how to make this adorable 'lil punkin':</span><br />

<span style="color: #783f04; font-size: x-large;">My favorite time of year is here. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #783f04; font-size: x-large;">Harvest time! Fall time! Autumn time!</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I love the pumpkins growing in my pumpkin patch. I love the cooler temps at night. I love the smell of the air.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The leaves are just starting to change to beautiful fall colors in the mountains. I also love sweaters and sweat shirts. Yes indeed, a great time of year!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I've been making autumn decorations and having fun dressing the inside of my home to match the harvest time outdoors.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here is a link to a you tube video I did of the pumpkin centerpiece that I've been making (it has step-by-step instructions):</span><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://youtu.be/FM6FaUiHe9o"><b style="background-color: orange;">Pumpkin Centerpiece video</b></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">All you need is scrapbook paper, scissors, glue, and a stapler. So easy!!!</span></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I also made a bunch of smaller (fan fold type) pumpkins out of less expensive orange copy paper. They look cute together in a pumpkin grouping.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's the link to the video I made for the smaller pumpkins:</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://youtu.be/WUCszHivFVM"><b style="background-color: orange;">Origami Pumpkins video</b></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></div>
<div align="left" style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div align="left" style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Now I think I need to go bake up some pumpkin cookies (with chocolate chips, of course!).</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #274e13; font-size: x-large;">Happy Happy Harvest to you :)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM3zgQ7q8pSndx_m0pQ0e3peebHSzwWCPstn6fy3GZlA_C_b3EwYLLRC0sSeZjebaeI9xEAhEh1CoPMf5-Z-nZjCCVvm1NdA0k9m34aiK215fgQmtjFYoEFeVhpy5uADa7lRdqYfWXVOg/s1600/a3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhM3zgQ7q8pSndx_m0pQ0e3peebHSzwWCPstn6fy3GZlA_C_b3EwYLLRC0sSeZjebaeI9xEAhEh1CoPMf5-Z-nZjCCVvm1NdA0k9m34aiK215fgQmtjFYoEFeVhpy5uADa7lRdqYfWXVOg/s640/a3.jpg" height="250" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here they are ------ the crochet accessories. There is the crochet heart, the crochet poinsettia, the crochet butterfly, and a crochet flower. The flower is an older pattern that has already been covered, but I decided to throw it in too (since it can also be attached to a hairband or whatever by way of a button).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">First, the crochet heart. This design is the easiest and works up the quickest. Someday, I'm going to make a Valentine heart garland for my fireplace using this crochet heart pattern. Enough said, here is the link to the you tube "how to" video I made:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><br /></span></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpAMk2WAvUpMB3IuHefv9vR6nt8FxT3hWNpDSREeKbt5onjRe3NeBF7PNWQXU4rpHcCCLxSstsUwoftjYUq5WQ0vxCx-OMNOkViXQyTXfl3WHjWMFQir0djUij6a-SK2EiDt3jc_COTSs/s1600/heart+one.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpAMk2WAvUpMB3IuHefv9vR6nt8FxT3hWNpDSREeKbt5onjRe3NeBF7PNWQXU4rpHcCCLxSstsUwoftjYUq5WQ0vxCx-OMNOkViXQyTXfl3WHjWMFQir0djUij6a-SK2EiDt3jc_COTSs/s320/heart+one.jpg" height="298" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Next, is the crochet poinsettia. I love this and it is very fun to crochet. I think it will be very pretty for you on a sweater or coat in the wintertime. The crocheted poinsettia would also be so cute on your purse or handbag or crocheted hat.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJArgjJ3Qm2gjOsTtVgzqk301fqKdqqs3irs7Opb4-Zn5Xf9MftYPVD3zrtVTlV0GUgoLBwfOwdUHKLG2Ctiz_cNJ-HJqzzOFGojq6Muig0FQ-Co9010LConpKO4M3SaHuHzuzpw3R8Ks/s1600/h1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhJArgjJ3Qm2gjOsTtVgzqk301fqKdqqs3irs7Opb4-Zn5Xf9MftYPVD3zrtVTlV0GUgoLBwfOwdUHKLG2Ctiz_cNJ-HJqzzOFGojq6Muig0FQ-Co9010LConpKO4M3SaHuHzuzpw3R8Ks/s320/h1.jpg" height="246" width="320" /></a></div>

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Last, but not least is the fun crochet butterfly. This one is a little more involved. It has a yarn color change and some back and forthing for the antennaes and wings. But it works up quickly after you have completed one of them and kids (girls mostly) love them!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's the link for the "how to" video for the crochet buttherflies:</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Oh, the flower can be found in an older post at: <span style="background-color: #741b47;"> </span></span><a href="http://momof5daughters.blogspot.com/2010/06/how-to-crochet-flower.html"><span style="background-color: #741b47; font-size: large;">How to crochet a flower</span></a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">One more thing, these crochet accessories for hairbands, sweaters, hats, bags, bedrooms, or towels, etc., can also be crocheted with crochet thread instead of yarn. The items in the picture below are done with a size "F" hook and size 3 crochet thread. The crochet thread gives them lacy, delicate look.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And just one more thing <em>again, </em>if you are interested, here is a link to the you tube video I did for crocheting the hat:</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">What fun projects and I love projects that I can make for myself and as gifts for others</span><span style="font-size: large;">. These crochet items fit the bill ;)</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I have wanted to do a super simple crocheted headband for a long time, with optional cutsy things to add to it.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">After thinking about it and putting it off, I finally started working on it, and now (I'm typing this as I pat myself on the back) I'm done with the whole project!!!!! </span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #4c1130; font-size: x-large;"><em>Wahoo!!! Woot! Woot!</em></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9KZvBNyFZsDfgXpAN4VhF_7czp5WHyEsUAFQMGOMk46zmSqHZMP25TtDW8ZICpAQCm5c31StQnv3DPADSyGblshkI15AvRrGJnMiieojFfuhBWdwe9DTksksX9h2nQiYcaJjPyY0WN8I/s1600/ada+blog+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9KZvBNyFZsDfgXpAN4VhF_7czp5WHyEsUAFQMGOMk46zmSqHZMP25TtDW8ZICpAQCm5c31StQnv3DPADSyGblshkI15AvRrGJnMiieojFfuhBWdwe9DTksksX9h2nQiYcaJjPyY0WN8I/s400/ada+blog+1.jpg" height="358" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">The crochet headband is so easy. It uses only a single crochet stitch and a chain stitch.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So let's get started. I used a size "I" crochet hook and you can use any regular yarn or "Soft" yarn too. I used Caron Simple Soft yarn.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's a link for a youtube howto video I did that shows how to crochet the headband step-by-step:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"><a href="http://youtu.be/UDuVdrgvOMQ"><b style="background-color: #741b47;">How to crochet a headband video</b></a></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">For a 1" wide headband, start with 4 chain stitches and work 3 single crochet stitches for every row until it is the length you want for a snug fit (not too tight and not too loose).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">For a 1 1/2" wide headband, start with 6 chain stitches and do 5 single crochet stitches per row.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">For a 2" wide headband, start with 8 chains and do 7 single crochet stitches per row.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">If you want to make some headbands with crochet thread, I used size 3 crochet thread and an "F" crochet hook. For a 1" wide headband, you will start with 5 chains and work 4 sc for each row.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I will talk about the poinsettia, heart, and butterfly in my next post.<br /> Make some headbands fast so you will be ready to add the accessories (heart, poinsettia, butterfly, flower) to them.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I want to thank my cute lil' 2 year old granddaughter for modeling for me. She really liked the poinsettia on her hairband. She liked the heart too. She likes the butterfly best, but I didn't get a pic of that one on her. Just gotta love her wild red hair!</span></div>

Really?<span style="font-size: large;">Okay, brace yourself, this post is a little different. Nope, that's an understatement. This post is a lot different.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I don't even watch Dr. Who, oops, I mean Doctor Who (my daughter corrected me). Actually, I've seen a few shows, but it is my daughter (the fourth one) that has watched several episodes, several hundred episodes. There are like thousands??? of episodes of Doctor Who since he has been going strong for half a century. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I just don't get it, but there are so many that do 'get it' and love, or rather LOVE Doctor Who.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So this post is dedicated to all those out there that are Doctor Who fans (including my daughter).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You would be shocked at how many trial and errors I went through with this project. You would be even more shocked to know how many hours were spent on this project, so I won't tell you (but it was lots and lots).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Let me warn you, I would not consider this a beginner project. It's isn't hard, there just isn't much of a repeating pattern to crochet mindlessly while you watch TV (specifically Dr., oops again, Doctor Whatever Who!!!).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The instructions to make this crocheted Tardis are in a 3 part video.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's part one of how to crochet a Tardis:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/h12y7buFhLQ"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b style="background-color: #073763;">TARDIS, part 1 video</b></span></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's part two of how to crochet a Tardis:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/-4FMb82GbFs"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b style="background-color: #073763;">TARDIS, part 2 video</b></span></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And last, but not least, here's part three of how to crochet a Tardis:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/BzBXwQ355eE"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b style="background-color: #073763;">TARDIS, part 3</b></span></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The finished Tardis measured about 6" tall and you can put all your Doctor Who memorabilia inside the Tardis as the doors are not crocheted shut.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: x-large;">Bowties are cool :)</span></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">All righty, that enough of Doctor Who and Tardis's. The next crochet video I do will be something normal like R2D2 from Star Wars -- just kidding!</span>Alyssahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13356601851959013208noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-950564687059981944.post-85191884653364806222013-06-24T16:12:00.000-06:002014-02-06T14:49:47.640-07:00Pinwheels for the Fourth of July!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifRMZTNiT8RcQmkjlreDHUEoxKoCyC-zJ2zJ2FDb0q3b8u_EnWya1ekyGxgdZ4aurjrXJYUDt5GxEvuYGgFRiJLV4PkUCcIJsHM6YekwovJot0Lp1FYvZXIzHOdpzRxqYdfrJOy2uXhhw/s1600/blog+pinw.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifRMZTNiT8RcQmkjlreDHUEoxKoCyC-zJ2zJ2FDb0q3b8u_EnWya1ekyGxgdZ4aurjrXJYUDt5GxEvuYGgFRiJLV4PkUCcIJsHM6YekwovJot0Lp1FYvZXIzHOdpzRxqYdfrJOy2uXhhw/s400/blog+pinw.jpg" height="400" width="300" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I love the 4th of July and as I live in Utah, I also LOVE the 24th of July, so I wanted to have something fun for the grandkids to make for the celebrations. These pinwheels will be so fun for them to hold while watching the parades. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">They hope the pinwheels will attract the attention of people on parade floats that are throwing candy.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">I (with the help of my granddaughters) made some pinwheels with red, white, and blue scrapbook paper. </span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZtVAB_jFvrWs2ErDBpCrJ1NNjmTMtjqO1L_8XEBMuGpLw-E4Dggji5RP0yCMgO-pR1aFpeIMSfXUerDYWJXlxeOBvTdIYyrtShYOe6mkdU-waLEE7m4Vd0o_qQ8v4E8y7TuEto_Dm7Lc/s1600/pinwheel+blog+pic.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgZtVAB_jFvrWs2ErDBpCrJ1NNjmTMtjqO1L_8XEBMuGpLw-E4Dggji5RP0yCMgO-pR1aFpeIMSfXUerDYWJXlxeOBvTdIYyrtShYOe6mkdU-waLEE7m4Vd0o_qQ8v4E8y7TuEto_Dm7Lc/s320/pinwheel+blog+pic.jpg" height="320" width="257" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Then we attached them to some 25 cent rulers from Walmart. The rulers were longer than the straws that we also used for the pinwheel handle. I think the rulers added more character to the pinwheels too, but the straws also work just fine.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The best part about these pinwheels (and what the kids love about them) is that they spin really easily and well!!!</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here's the "how to" video:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/NZt0NuHIG80"><span style="font-size: x-large;"><b style="background-color: #b6d7a8;">How to fold a pinwheel video</b></span></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">Here are a couple of my darling helpers:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSoKs2MR_4IS-m73D8yj71qUsGI0-75roEFMcK0XYw-AemfYgv0Qz__NL7kw7Ubb5wcCWeGWvASy-MpkNuYCXWkE0WtntSv8q71sG3fj9y8rdpHnsPqLS6wP_ZthmMgt3kADddCxZxh-A/s1600/gkids+pinwheel+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSoKs2MR_4IS-m73D8yj71qUsGI0-75roEFMcK0XYw-AemfYgv0Qz__NL7kw7Ubb5wcCWeGWvASy-MpkNuYCXWkE0WtntSv8q71sG3fj9y8rdpHnsPqLS6wP_ZthmMgt3kADddCxZxh-A/s640/gkids+pinwheel+1.jpg" height="428" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiN-TU8_VozpJTQqjv7tVJkCRnHZ3D30GQTJDyDgX3R36UdLMRa6-NnhLaBn4FsowufWIJG3pwYdx5U21nOsbhQ6sUuYvMR4btATzTmThUh47DngkAvQQawFMQ8K6vdOiSgkDnuxW5hno/s1600/gkids+pinwheel+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiN-TU8_VozpJTQqjv7tVJkCRnHZ3D30GQTJDyDgX3R36UdLMRa6-NnhLaBn4FsowufWIJG3pwYdx5U21nOsbhQ6sUuYvMR4btATzTmThUh47DngkAvQQawFMQ8K6vdOiSgkDnuxW5hno/s640/gkids+pinwheel+2.jpg" height="427" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">And here is the template or pattern to print out and cut the right shape for the pinwheel:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrXNnVtJqhyVvGwK5CP9kvH31oa_Lcsaqax_JWW1_XfbqhsRaoSCzOqTyySstjts_zjU1xGnyIpgFRov-4CeZJq_OXzTH3fNqOjvczH68pY0TefVNKAmBRCOQpEqytewttAuGasjwfweE/s1600/pinwheel-template.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrXNnVtJqhyVvGwK5CP9kvH31oa_Lcsaqax_JWW1_XfbqhsRaoSCzOqTyySstjts_zjU1xGnyIpgFRov-4CeZJq_OXzTH3fNqOjvczH68pY0TefVNKAmBRCOQpEqytewttAuGasjwfweE/s320/pinwheel-template.jpg" height="246" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Left click on the pinwheel template, then right click on the pinwheel image and select "print picture". This will make the template the correct size when you print it out. By the way, the pinwheel template should measure 5"x 5". Cut along the solid lines and use a hole punch to punch out the circles :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKuh4qYj4qPg3EuFYbTbNXtK6zsl7LVDsCzEdsBVmUGsqbBUb7L7zbFqxP66pyGWi2cUt1P_7_XDZ892OxSIsFekoycx5HljN6zOSofZa3rkaSoht03igsLB-SljBO7sf3EFMbOqi_zcM/s1600/pinw+002.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjKuh4qYj4qPg3EuFYbTbNXtK6zsl7LVDsCzEdsBVmUGsqbBUb7L7zbFqxP66pyGWi2cUt1P_7_XDZ892OxSIsFekoycx5HljN6zOSofZa3rkaSoht03igsLB-SljBO7sf3EFMbOqi_zcM/s320/pinw+002.JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I'm thinking these would also make fun birthday party decorations. As I continue thinking, I've also seen pinwheels used for wedding decorations on pinterest (the ones I saw did not spin though -- they were strictly decorative).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I may make some fall colored pinwheels later this summer and stick them in my patio when the wind starts blowing leaves off the trees. Anyway, there are so many fun types of scrapbook paper that the possibilities are endless.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">In case I don't get another post up before the 4th:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #cc0000; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: x-large;"><strong>Let <span style="color: #0b5394;">Freedom</span> Ring<span style="color: #0b5394;">!!!</span></strong></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: #444444; font-family: Courier New; font-size: x-large;">and</span></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: #bf9000; font-family: Courier New; font-size: x-large;">God Bless the USA!</span></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong><span style="color: #bf9000; font-family: inherit; font-size: large;">and everywhere else too!</span></strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

They are made with a special "pre-fab" yarn that is already machine crocheted.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, knowing me, I had to make one from scratch -- no "pre-fab" yarn for me!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This little project ended up being a several month long project, and now several scarves later, I'm done -- yippee!!!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The "pre-fab" yarn is not really yarn. It is actually machine woven or machine crocheted with thread. For me, working with crochet thread is more difficult than yarn. Sooo, with this in mind the first spiral, twirly scarves I made were with yarn. I like how they turned out.</span><br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/aRnp8N9jHA4"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg36fmKk2nAyUId775XGBeffuttgEVC3zQMdI5AO9s2MCcJWHzwafZxzPBVVfZImw1ty77E4WAjOWHof7T0sYv0SmHvvJv3Ufv5W3PsACpPQ1YhF6CitLLbbAL5iirfEvGOHRx1HmLa4U/s320/kris+1.jpg" height="320" width="285" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">These yarn scarves are great for cooler times of the year, but for summer I needed to tackle crochet thread for a lighter, airy look.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The next scarves were made with size 3 crochet thread (so many more stitches, because of using thread instead of yarn!). </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"></span><br />
<div align="center">
<span style="font-size: large;">These scarves took a lot longer to crochet than the yarn scarves.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/SrhCM3rUCck"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUQDDOr8MSKgGSG9E8DkjI7KU0OO_Z5qthyCbETqnB7j1LlI-vM8oH4u3PoueNKT2mmM4Z9PkukIF72GLHudH8KBXjzkpIv9iR1-zgtvaCDwgL-Sy9GS3wJQzFM9jn4delcAXaemMyueI/s640/tang+2.jpg" height="424" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;">But so worth it because these scarves are fabulous! Once you get started the thread is easy to work with and you will truly enjoy making these crochet thread scarves.</span> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://youtu.be/SrhCM3rUCck"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgFOnLah_o-VfPDAmBVbL5Si7xk1UVxUAM41xsWEtSos2tbRTdp76_ZevIWOEAIrv0SiChjhflyUG-k7ReN03s05VmFDSWCYNI4MpYQwIpOaXjXQCrWmsFDP9mENx9yl7uo7sVQqzvMCAk/s320/tang.jpg" height="320" width="219" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">This yellow/orange scarf (below) took an especially long time because I threaded small clear beads onto the thread and the crocheted them into the scarf.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">This is the post I was hoping to get done a couple of weeks before Mother's Day, for a Mother's Day gift idea --- oh well. At least it is done in time to make some fun summery accent scarves for yourself!</span><br />

To prevent that from happening for Father's Day I thought I would not procrastinate (like I did for Mother's Day) and I would </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">This is a super cute origami shirt and tie card you can make for your men of the day (don't forget, it is June16th).</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">You just use a regular size (8.5"x 11") piece of white or colored paper for the shirt, and a smaller (3.5"x 3.5") piece of patterned paper for the tie. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">That's all you need!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;">P.S. This shirt can also be used as a awesome card for a missionary.</span><br />
